Biography
Frank Conroy (born Frank Meinberg Conroy; also credited as Frank Parish Conroy) was a British actor. He was born on 14 October 1890 in Derby, Derbyshire, England, and died on 24 February 1964 in Paramus, New Jersey, United States.
Conroy began acting on stage in England in 1908 and moved to the United States in 1915. He appeared in more than 40 Broadway productions between 1913 and 1962, winning a Tony Award for best supporting actor for his performance in Graham Greene's The Potting Shed (1957).
His film roles include Rohna in Grand Hotel (1932), Dr. Thorne in The White Parade (1934) and Maj. Tetley in The Ox-Bow Incident (1943). He also appeared in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), The Naked City (1948) and The Snake Pit (1948).
