Biography
Frank J. Scannell (also credited as Frank Scannell or Frank J. Scannell) was an American actor. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he began his career in 1922 as a tap dancer and singer at a Chicago speakeasy owned by Al Capone. He appeared in over 100 film and television productions from the 1940s to the 1970s, frequently in supporting or uncredited roles.
His credits include the Barker in The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957), Ted Fields (uncredited) in Airport (1970), a reporter (uncredited) in The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), Officer Mulrooney (uncredited) in On the Town (1949), and a burlesque comic in I Love Lucy (1951). He also appeared in episodes of The Untouchables and The Beverly Hillbillies. Scannell died in Las Vegas, Nevada.
