Biography
Frank Mazzola (1935–2015) was an American film editor and actor. Born in Los Angeles, he began his career as a child actor with uncredited roles in films including The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), Casablanca (1942) and East of Eden (1955). He appeared as the character Crunch in Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and later transitioned to film editing in the late 1960s.
Mazzola edited Performance (1970), The Hired Hand (1971), Demon Seed (1977) and other features. He collaborated closely with director Donald Cammell on several projects and completed a director’s cut of Wild Side (1995) after Cammell’s death. He also worked in the editorial department on Hawaii (1966).
