Biography
Frank Watts was a British cinematographer. He began his career as a focus puller in 1950 and became a camera operator in 1956, before working as a director of photography from 1967. His early credits included episodes of television series such as The Baron and The Avengers.
Watts shot numerous British television productions, including 44 episodes of Space: 1999 (1975) and series such as The Professionals (1977) and Hammer House of Horror (1980). His feature film work included Educating Rita (1983) and D.A.R.Y.L. (1985). He served as president of the British Society of Cinematographers from 1984 to 1986.
Watts retired from cinematography in 1989 but returned briefly to shoot Fergie & Andrew: Behind the Palace Doors (1992). He died in London on 5 March 1994.
