Biography

Frankie Thomas (born Frank Marion Thomas Jr.) was an American actor who appeared in Broadway plays, films, radio and early television. He made his stage debut at the age of 11 in the 1932 Broadway production of Carry Nation and went on to perform in several further plays through the mid-1930s.

In Hollywood he played supporting roles in films including Boys Town (1938), One Foot in Heaven (1941) as Hartzell Spence, and The Major and the Minor (1942). He is best known for starring as the title character in the children's television series Tom Corbett, Space Cadet, which ran from 1950 to 1955. After retiring from acting he worked as a writer and bridge instructor.
