Biography
Fujio Tokita was a Japanese actor. Born on 30 January 1937 in Kijimadaira, Nagano Prefecture, he appeared in films from the mid-1960s, including Red Beard (1965) and Zatoichi Meets Yojimbo (1970). He played Jinsaku in Shōhei Imamura's The Ballad of Narayama (1983).
Tokita voiced Uncle Pom in Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky (1986) and appeared in Akira Kurosawa's Dreams (1990), Imamura's Black Rain (1989) and The Eel (1997), and Naomi Kawase's Still the Water (2014). He also worked as a narrator. He died on 18 July 2018 in Tokyo.
