Biography
Gabe Rotter is an American television writer and producer. Born on 16 April 1978 in Long Island, New York, he studied film at the University of Southern California. He began his career as a production assistant and writers' assistant on The X-Files.
Rotter later worked as a writer and producer on the 2016–2018 revival seasons of The X-Files, including writing the episode "Kitten". He is also the author of the novels Duck Duck Wally (2007) and The Human Bobby (2010), both published by Simon & Schuster.
Rotter created, wrote and executive produced the Netflix miniseries The Beast in Me (2025), starring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys. He received Emmy nominations in 2026 for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series and Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
