Biography
Gary Weis is an American film and television director. He created numerous short films for Saturday Night Live in the mid-1970s, succeeding Albert Brooks as the show's primary film segment director.
Weis co-directed the mockumentary The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash (1978) with Eric Idle. His other directing credits include the television films Diary of a Young Comic (1979) and Wholly Moses! (1980), as well as the documentary 80 Blocks from Tiffany's (1979). He also directed comedy specials for Steve Martin and music videos.
