Biography
Gavin Mitchell is a Scottish actor and comedian. He began his career in 1990 after obtaining an equity card and has worked in television, film and theatre.
He is best known for playing Boabby the barman in the BBC sitcom Still Game (2002–2019). Other credits include a recurring role as Callum McIntyre in Monarch of the Glen (2001–2004), appearances in Velvet Soup, Empty, Happy Hollidays, The Field of Blood and films such as Breaking the Waves (1996) and Outlaw King (2018).
In 2019 he won Best Actor at the Scottish Comedy Awards for his work in Still Game and received an honorary Doctor of Letters from Glasgow Caledonian University.
