Biography
George Memmoli (3 August 1938 – 20 May 1985) was an American actor. Born in Queens, New York City, he was a founding member of the improv comedy troupe Ace Trucking Company.
Memmoli was a friend and frequent collaborator of director Martin Scorsese. He appeared as Joey in Mean Streets (1973), Nicky in New York, New York (1977), and contributed to the documentary American Boy: A Profile of Steven Prince (1978). Other film roles include Philbin in Phantom of the Paradise (1974), Jenkins in Blue Collar (1978), and the Ice Rink Attendant in Rocky (1976). He also appeared in television series including Hello, Larry, Laverne & Shirley, Diff'rent Strokes, Hill Street Blues, and The Rockford Files.
Memmoli's final screen role was in The Sure Thing (1985). He died in Los Angeles, California.
