Biography

George Pelling was an actor. Born on 25 October 1914 in Salisbury, South Rhodesia, he later became a naturalised United States citizen. He died on 2 December 2008 in Laguna Woods, California.

Pelling provided the voice of Danny the Great Dane in the Disney animated film One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961). He appeared in numerous films and television series, often in small or uncredited roles, including Witness for the Prosecution (1957), 20 Million Miles to Earth (1957), episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, The Outer Limits (1963), King Rat (1965) and Brainstorm (1965). During the Second World War he served as a flight officer in the Royal Air Force; after his plane was shot down he was held as a prisoner of war in Stalag Luft III, where he took part in the tunnel-digging efforts that led to the Great Escape.
