Biography
George Zaloom is an American producer, writer and director. He founded ZM Productions with Les Mayfield, initially from his university dormitory, and the company specialised in non-fiction programming and family entertainment.
Zaloom produced the documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) with Mayfield. He also produced the feature Encino Man (1992) and served as executive producer on numerous ABC television movies, including several Disney adaptations such as Escape to Witch Mountain (1995) and Tower of Terror (1997). Later he worked as an executive at DreamWorks Animation, supervising production on Kung Fu Panda (2008).
A graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Film & Television, Zaloom has received an Emmy Award and three nominations, as well as the D.W. Griffith Award.
