Biography
Gilly Gilchrist is a Scottish actor. He was born on 22 November 1961 in Pilton, Edinburgh. He trained at the Scottish Circus School in trapeze and acrobatics, as well as at the Theatre Workshop and Film Workshop in Edinburgh and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Gilchrist has worked extensively in theatre, from small-scale touring productions to Broadway shows, including a 1994 Almeida Theatre production of Hamlet with Ralph Fiennes. His screen credits include Rob Roy (1995) as Iain, Gladiator (2000) as Officer 2 (extended edition), Perfect Sense (2011) as Doctor, Starred Up (2013) as Principal Officer Scott, Outlander (2014–2022) as Geordie Chisholm, Outlaw King (2018) as Maol Choluim I, Earl of Lennox, and Invasion (2021) as Martin Williams. He is based in Glasgow.
