Biography
Giovanna Galletti was an Italian actress, also credited as Giovanna Vivaldi. She was born on 27 June 1916 in Bangkok, Thailand, and died on 21 April 1992 in Rome, Italy.
She began her career on stage in the early 1930s and trained at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. Galletti appeared in films from 1938, with a notable early role as Ingrid in Roberto Rossellini's Rome, Open City (1945). After the war she focused primarily on theatre, working with companies including those led by Giorgio Strehler at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, and later took supporting film roles, often as villains.
