Biography
Gösta Prüzelius was a Swedish actor. Born Karl Gösta Prüzelius in Stockholm on 11 August 1922, he trained at the Gothenburg City Theatre school from 1941 to 1943 and made his film debut in 1945. He appeared in more than 120 films and television productions over a career spanning 1945 to 2000.
Prüzelius worked at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm from 1964 for over thirty years. He is known for roles in several Ingmar Bergman films, including The Seventh Seal (1957), Smiles of a Summer Night (1955), The Magic Flute (1975) and Fanny and Alexander (1982). Other credits include Summer with Monika (1953), Shame (1968), Pippi Longstocking (1969) and the voice of Bagheera in the Swedish dub of Disney's The Jungle Book (1967). On television he played shipping magnate Reidar Dahlén in the long-running series Rederiet from 1992 until his death.
He died in Stockholm on 15 May 2000.
