Biography
Gub Neal is a British television producer. He produced the first series of the ITV drama Cracker (1993–1996), created by Jimmy McGovern and starring Robbie Coltrane. He later served as Controller of Drama at Granada Television and Head of Drama at Channel 4, where he commissioned series including Queer as Folk (1999) and Shackleton (2002).
Neal's other producing credits include Prime Suspect (1991), Hillsborough (1996), The Fall (2013) and Liaison (2023). He began his career in street theatre before moving into television and has founded production companies including Box TV and Artists Studio; he is Creative Chair at Ringside Studios. His work has received multiple awards and nominations, including a Primetime Emmy.
