Biography
Guy Dufaux is a French-born Canadian cinematographer. Born on 18 July 1943 in Lille, France, he studied fine arts at the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Marseille before immigrating to Canada in 1965 and becoming a Canadian citizen in 1971.
He has worked extensively in Canadian cinema, often collaborating with director Denys Arcand. His credits include cinematography on The Decline of the American Empire (1986) and The Barbarian Invasions (2003), as well as Jesus of Montreal (1989), for which he won a Genie Award, Léolo (1992) and Barney's Version (2010).
Dufaux has received further recognition including a Gemini Award for the miniseries Haven (2001). He is the brother of documentary filmmaker Georges Dufaux and is married to Marie Lahaye.
