Biography
H. G. Wells, also known as Herbert George Wells, was an English novelist, journalist, sociologist and historian.
Born in Bromley, Kent, he studied biology at the Normal School of Science in London and worked as a science teacher before turning to writing. His early novels included The Time Machine (1895) and The War of the Worlds (1898).
He wrote the screenplay for the 1936 film Things to Come, a loose adaptation of his 1933 book The Shape of Things to Come. His novels have been adapted into numerous films, including the 2005 version of War of the Worlds.
