Biography
Hagen Bogdanski is a German cinematographer and director. Born in Berlin on 24 April 1965, he studied at the Staatliche Fachschule für Optik und Fotografie in Berlin. He worked as a camera assistant to cinematographers including Xaver Schwarzenberger, Jürgen Jürges and Gernot Roll before becoming a director of photography in 1996 with Die Spur der roten Fässer.
Bogdanski has worked on numerous German and international productions. He was cinematographer on Antibodies (2005), The Lives of Others (2006), for which he received the German Film Prize, The Young Victoria (2009), Case 39 (2009), The Beaver (2011), W.E. (2011), The Physician (2013) and Papillon (2017). Since 2018 he has also directed, including episodes of Berlin Station and the series Die Drei von der Müllabfuhr.
