Biography
Hans Bacher is a German production designer and visual development artist who has worked extensively in animation. He served as production designer on the Disney film Mulan (1998), for which he created a style guide drawing on traditional Chinese painting and comics to establish the film's visual approach.
Bacher contributed visual development to several other Disney features, including Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), Hercules (1997) and Brother Bear (2003). He was also production designer on Balto (1995) and worked on visual development for The Little Matchgirl (2006). He is the author of books on animation production design, including Dream Worlds.
