Biography
Hans Funck (7 March 1953 – 16 July 2014) was a German film editor. He worked on more than 35 productions for cinema and television, beginning with advertising and music videos before moving to feature films in the mid-1990s.
Funck edited all but one of Oliver Hirschbiegel’s films between 1998 and 2013, including Das Experiment (2001), Downfall (2004), The Invasion (2007), Five Minutes of Heaven (2009) and Diana (2013). He also collaborated frequently with Marc Rothemund, notably on Sophie Scholl – The Final Days (2005), and with Katja von Garnier on Bandits (1997) and Iron Jawed Angels (2004). Other credits include Pope Joan (2009) and The Girl King (2015). He died in Munich of an asthma attack while completing work on Wishing Tree.
