Biography
Hari Rhodes (also credited as Harry Rhodes) was an American actor and author. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on 10 April 1932, he began his screen career in the late 1950s and appeared in more than sixty films and television programmes over three decades.
He played MacDonald in Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972). Other notable credits include the regular role of Mike Makula in the series Daktari (1966–1969), appearances in Shock Corridor (1963), Coma (1978) and the miniseries Roots (1977), and a lead role in the blaxploitation film Detroit 9000 (1973). Rhodes also wrote the novel The Chosen Few about Black Marines.
He died of a heart attack in Canoga Park, Los Angeles, on 15 January 1992.
