Biography
Harold Sylvester is an American actor and writer. Born on 10 February 1949 in New Orleans, Louisiana, he graduated from St Augustine High School and Tulane University, where he was the first African American to receive an athletic scholarship and earned degrees in theatre and psychology.
He is best known for playing Griff on the sitcom Married... with Children (1994–1997). Other acting credits include An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), Innerspace (1987), Corrina, Corrina (1994), Malcolm in the Middle (2000) and CSI: Miami (2002–2009), plus guest appearances on NYPD Blue and Murder, She Wrote.
Sylvester has also written for television, including story and teleplay credits on NYPD Blue (2001) and the screenplay for the television film Passing Glory (1999). He has worked as a producer on series such as City of Angels (2000).
