Biography
Harry Stockwell (1902–1984) was an American actor and singer. He made his Broadway debut in 1929 in Broadway Nights and appeared in revues including Earl Carroll's Vanities and As Thousands Cheer. His film debut came in the 1935 musical Here Comes the Band.
Stockwell achieved wider recognition for providing the singing voice of the Prince in Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). On stage, he succeeded Alfred Drake as Curly in the original Broadway production of Oklahoma!, performing the role from 1943 until 1948. His final screen appearance was in The Werewolf of Washington (1973).
He was the father of actors Dean Stockwell and Guy Stockwell with his first wife, Elizabeth Veronica.
