Biography
Harvey Atkin was a Canadian actor. Born Elliot Harvey Atkin on 18 December 1942 in Toronto, Ontario, he died there on 18 July 2017.
He appeared as Sergeant Ronald Coleman in the television series Cagney & Lacey (1982–1988). Atkin played Morty Melnick in the film Meatballs (1979) and had recurring roles as Judge Alan Ridenour in the Law & Order franchise, including Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999) and Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001). He also appeared in Silver Streak (1976), Barney's Version (2010) and Suits (2011).
Atkin voiced King Koopa in the animated series The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! (1989), The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 (1990) and Super Mario World (1991), and Sam in The Adventures of Sam & Max: Freelance Police (1997–1998). He received a Genie Award nomination for Meatballs.
