Biography
Helen Estabrook is an American film and television producer and executive. She grew up in Champaign, Illinois, attended University Laboratory High School and Harvard College, where she studied sociology and graduated in 2003.
She began her career as a production assistant in New York before moving to Los Angeles, where she worked with director Jason Reitman at Right of Way Films. Estabrook produced Whiplash (2014), which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, and served as producer or executive producer on films including Up in the Air (2009), Young Adult (2011), Labor Day (2013), Demolition (2016), Tully (2018) and Babylon (2022). She also executive produced the Hulu series Casual (2015–2018).
Estabrook ran her own company, A Thousand Ships, and held first-look deals with Hulu and HBO. In 2021 she became global head of film and television at Condé Nast Entertainment.
