Biography
Helen Rachel Slater is an American actress and singer-songwriter. She was born on 15 December 1963 in Bethpage, New York, and trained at the High School of Performing Arts in New York City.
She is best known for playing the title character in the 1984 film Supergirl. Other film roles include The Legend of Billie Jean (1985), Ruthless People (1986), The Secret of My Success (1987) and City Slickers (1991), in which she played Bonnie Rayburn. On television she has appeared in series including Smallville as Lara-El, Supergirl (2015) as Eliza Danvers, and guest roles in Grey's Anatomy, Seinfeld and Mad Men. She provided the voice of Talia al Ghul in Batman: The Animated Series.
Slater has also recorded albums as a singer-songwriter and pianist.
