Biography
Henry Richardson (1936–2017) was an English film editor. Born in London, he entered the film industry after leaving school and began as a second assistant editor on The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men (1952). He went on to edit approximately 57 feature films across more than six decades, working in Britain, the United States and elsewhere.
Richardson edited the James Bond film Octopussy (1983) and served as additional editor on A View to a Kill (1985). He collaborated on five films with director Andrei Konchalovsky, including Runaway Train (1985), which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing. Other credits include The Thirteenth Floor (1999), Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (1997) and The Valley of Gwangi (1969).
He was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the American Cinema Editors.
