Biography
Henry Simmons is an American actor. He was born on 1 July 1970 in Stamford, Connecticut, and studied at Franklin Pierce University before moving to New York City to pursue acting.
He began his career with guest roles and a regular part as Tyrone Montgomery on the soap opera Another World (1997–1999). Simmons played Detective Baldwin Jones on the police drama NYPD Blue from 2000 to 2005.
He is also known for portraying Alphonso 'Mack' Mackenzie on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2014–2020). His film credits include Taxi (2004) and No Good Deed (2014). Simmons won the Grand Jury Award for Best Actor at the American Black Film Festival for South of Pico (2007). He has been married to actress Sophina Brown since 2010.
