Biography

Herbert Bunston (15 April 1874 – 27 February 1935) was an English stage and screen actor. He appeared in British theatre from the late 1890s before emigrating to the United States in 1922. His Broadway credits included The Enchanted Cottage (1923), Young Woodley (1925) and Dracula (1927), in which he played Dr John Seward.

Bunston's stage work led to a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Between 1929 and 1935 he appeared in more than thirty films, often in supporting character roles. He reprised the part of Dr Seward in the 1931 film adaptation of Dracula and played the Minister in Smilin' Through (1932). Other screen credits include a role in Les Misérables (1935).
