Biography
Herbert Knaup is a German film and television actor. He was born on 23 March 1956 in Sonthofen, Bavaria. He trained at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich and began his career with stage work and a film debut in the short Coda (1978).
Knaup is known internationally for supporting roles in Run Lola Run (1998) as Lola's father and The Lives of Others (2006). Other credits include The Invincibles (1994), Nuremberg (2000) as Albert Speer, The Elementary Particles (2006) and In Darkness (2011). He is a founding member of the German Screen Actors Guild (BFFS) and has been married to Christiane Knaup since 2006.
