Biography
Hilary Dwyer, also known as Hilary Heath, was an English actress, businessperson and film producer. Born in Liverpool in 1945, she trained in repertory theatre and appeared on the London stage, including at the Bristol Old Vic. She began screen work in the mid-1960s and gained notice for roles in horror films such as Witchfinder General (1968), The Oblong Box (1969) and Cry of the Banshee (1970), as well as appearances in The Prisoner (1967) and Callan (1969).
In 1974 she married talent agent Duncan Heath. They founded Duncan Heath Associates, later acquired by ICM Partners; the couple divorced in 1989. Dwyer largely retired from acting after 1976 and worked as a producer under her married name. Her credits include the feature An Awfully Big Adventure (1995) and television adaptations such as Rebecca (1997) and Jamaica Inn (2014). She died in 2020.
