Biography
Holly Walsh is an English comedian, writer and director. Born on 8 November 1980 in Guildford, she studied History of Art at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, before turning to stand-up comedy in 2006.
She is best known as co-creator and writer of the BBC sitcoms Motherland (2017) and its spin-off Amandaland (2025). For the latter she shared the 2026 British Academy Television Award for Best Scripted Comedy. Walsh has also written for animated films including Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (2024) and directed episodes of The Other One.
