Biography

Ian Redford, also credited as Ian Leslie Redford, is an English actor born on 6 April 1951 in Carshalton, Surrey. He trained with the National Youth Theatre, appearing in their 1967 production of Zigger Zagger, and has worked extensively in theatre, film and television.

He is known for television roles including Ken Raynor in EastEnders (1990–91), Keith Appleyard in Coronation Street (2005–06), Ted Denning in Midsomer Murders (2012), Sir Reginald Walker in Foyle's War (2003) and Ted Nancarrow in Strike (2017–22). Film credits include the Publican in The Remains of the Day (1993) and an English Farmer in 3 Men and a Little Lady (1990). He played CS Ken Bowry in Murphy's Law (2007).

Redford has appeared in numerous other series such as The House of Eliott, Medics, Casualty, The Bill and New Tricks, and in films including Spaghetti House (1982) and The Prince and the Pauper (2000). He is married with three children and lives in London.
