Biography
J.D. Shapiro is an American screenwriter and stand-up comedian, born Jake David Shapiro on 18 March 1969.
He wrote the story and co-wrote the screenplay for the 1993 comedy Robin Hood: Men in Tights. Shapiro wrote the original screenplay for Battlefield Earth (2000). He was fired from the project during pre-production due to creative disagreements and later stated that little of his script remained in the finished film. He accepted a Golden Raspberry Award for worst screenplay in person and subsequently apologised for his involvement in the film.
