Biography
J.J. Johnston (born James William Johnston) was an American actor. He was born on 24 October 1933 in Chicago, Illinois, and died on 4 November 2022.
He appeared in numerous films and television series, including as O'Rourke in Fatal Attraction (1987), a mobster in JFK (1991), the doorman in The Spanish Prisoner (1997), and roles in Mad Dog and Glory (1993), State and Main (2000) and Redbelt (2008). His television credits include appearances in Married... with Children, The King of Queens and The Librarians (2014).
Johnston had a background in theatre, performing in the original Chicago production of David Mamet's American Buffalo (1975) and the 1983 Broadway revival. He was also a boxing historian and author of books on the subject.
