Biography
J. Ralph is an American composer, singer-songwriter and producer. Born in New York City in 1975, he is self-taught and does not read or write music. His professional career began in 1998 when, at age 22, he was signed to Lava/Atlantic Records.
He founded the music production company The Rumor Mill. Ralph has composed scores and songs for numerous documentaries, including Man on Wire (2008), The Cove (2009), Chasing Ice (2012), Finding Vivian Maier (2014), Meru (2015), Racing Extinction (2015) and Jim: The James Foley Story (2016). He has received three Academy Award nominations for his work on documentary films.
