Biography
Jacob Brackman (born 22 September 1943) is an American writer, journalist and lyricist. He graduated from Harvard University in 1965 and worked as a journalist for Newsweek and The New Yorker before becoming a film critic at Esquire magazine from 1969 to 1972.
Brackman wrote the story and teleplay for the Law & Order episode "Poison Ivy" (1990). His screenwriting credits include The King of Marvin Gardens (1972) and Times Square (1980). He served as executive producer on Days of Heaven (1978) and wrote lyrics for the Broadway musical King of Hearts (1978). He has collaborated on songs with Carly Simon and others.
