Biography
Jacqueline deWit (26 September 1912 – 7 January 1998) was an American film and television character actress. Born in Los Angeles, she began her career on Broadway in the 1930s, appearing in productions including Romeo and Juliet (1934) and The Taming of the Shrew (1935). She made her screen debut in the early 1940s and worked steadily in supporting roles through the 1960s.
DeWit is credited in more than two dozen films, among them Spellbound (1945), The Snake Pit (1948), The Damned Don't Cry (1950), All That Heaven Allows (1955) as Mona Plash, Tea and Sympathy (1956) and Harper (1966). She also appeared in the 1946 comedy Little Giant as Bud Abbott's wife, and on television in episodes of The Twilight Zone (1959), Wagon Train and The Monkees. Her career spanned from 1943 to 1970.
