Biography
Jacquetta May is a British actor and screenwriter. Born in Kent in 1960, she attended the University of Bristol and worked as a theatre actress for ten years, appearing at venues including the National Theatre, the Royal Exchange and Liverpool Playhouse.
She moved into television acting in the early 1990s, with a regular role in EastEnders (1991–93) as Rachel Kominski. Other television appearances include Cardiac Arrest, I'm Alan Partridge (2002), Silent Witness, Being Human (2010), Midsomer Murders and Vera (2011). Film roles include Get Real (1998).
May began writing for television in 2000. She co-created the CBBC series UGetMe (2003–05) and contributed episodes to Where the Heart Is (2000), New Tricks (2006), No Angels (2006), Torchwood (2006), Personal Affairs (2009) and Living the Dream (2017–19). She also wrote the television film In Love with Barbara (2008).
