Biography
James Bolenbaugh is an American production designer, art director and concept artist. He has worked extensively in television art departments since the late 2000s, with credits on series including Mad Men, Orange Is the New Black, Elementary and Halt and Catch Fire.
He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour) for his work as art director on the first season of Hacks (2021). As production designer his credits include the series Kevin Can Fk Himself (2021–2022) and The Walking Dead: Dead City (2023–). Earlier production design work encompasses independent features and shorts such as Ava's Possessions (2015) and Good Enough (2016).
Bolenbaugh grew up in Billings, Montana, and has also contributed concept illustration and set design to projects including Westworld and Palm Royale.
