Biography
James Dearden is a British screenwriter and film director. He was born on 14 September 1949 in London and is the son of director Basil Dearden and actress Melissa Stribling.
Dearden wrote and directed several short films in the 1970s and 1980s, including The Contraption (1977) and Diversion (1980). He wrote the screenplay for Fatal Attraction (1987), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. He has directed features including Pascali's Island (1988), A Kiss Before Dying (1991) and Rogue Trader (1999).
Dearden is married to actress Annabel Brooks.
