Biography
James Fritzell, also credited as Jim Fritzell, was an American television and film screenwriter. Born on 19 February 1920 in San Francisco, California, he died on 9 March 1979 in Los Angeles, California.
He collaborated for more than two decades with Everett Greenbaum, writing over 150 scripts together. Their work included episodes of The Real McCoys, The Andy Griffith Show and 35 episodes of MASH*. The pair received three Writers Guild of America awards and four Emmy nominations.
Fritzell also wrote screenplays for films including Good Neighbour Sam (1964), The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966), The Reluctant Astronaut (1967) and The Shakiest Gun in the West (1968). He received a Laurel Award for his contributions to television.
