Biography
James Keast (1957–2020) was a Scottish costume designer. Born in Armadale, West Lothian, he studied at Edinburgh School of Art before working as a costume assistant at Berman’s and Nathan’s in London. He later joined the BBC on a trainee scheme and worked as a costume designer on Bergerac (1987).
His credits include the BBC film Truly Madly Deeply (1991), the series The House of Eliott (1992), Our Friends in the North (1996), Warriors (1999), The Long Firm (2004), Luther (2010–2019), Mr Selfridge (2013–2016), Victoria (2016), Yardie (2018) and Belgravia (2020). He won a Bafta award for The Long Firm and a Royal Television Society award for Warriors.
