Biography
James Waterston is an American actor. He made his screen debut as Gerard Pitts in the 1989 film Dead Poets Society. He has since worked primarily in television, with guest and recurring roles in series including Six Feet Under, ER, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Good Wife, The Blacklist, Blindspot and The Deuce.
The son of actor Sam Waterston, he was born in New York City and graduated from Yale University. Waterston has an extensive stage career, with credits including leading roles in off-Broadway and regional productions as well as the world premiere of Chinglish at the Goodman Theatre. He is also a pianist.
