Biography

Jamie Sives is a Scottish actor. He was born on 14 August 1973 in Lochend, Edinburgh, and studied at Leith Academy. Before turning to acting full-time he worked as a scaffolder, postman and club doorman in Edinburgh.

Sives came to prominence as Wilbur in the 2002 film Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself. He is also known for roles including Jory Cassel in Game of Thrones (2011), Sitnikov in Chernobyl (2019), Cal Innes in Shetland (2023) and DCI James Hardy in the 2025 series Dept. Q. In 2014 he played the lead role of King James III in the National Theatre of Scotland production of James III.
