Biography
Jan Fedder (14 January 1955 – 30 December 2019) was a German actor born in Hamburg. He is known for his role as Petty Officer Pilgrim in Wolfgang Petersen’s film Das Boot (1981) and for playing police officer Dirk Matthies in the long-running television series Großstadtrevier (1992–2020).
Fedder began acting in his youth, appearing on stage from the age of 13 and in early television work. He also provided voice performances in the Werner animated films and appeared in feature films including Soul Kitchen (2009). He was married to Marion Fedder.
