Biography
Jane Greenwood is a British costume designer for stage, film, television, opera and dance. Born on 30 April 1934 in Liverpool, she trained at Liverpool Art School and the Central School of Arts and Crafts before working at the Oxford Playhouse. She moved to New York in 1962 and has designed for more than 125 Broadway productions since her debut with The Ballad of the Sad Cafe in 1963.
Her film credits include Arthur (1981) and Glengarry Glen Ross (1992). She has received 21 Tony Award nominations for costume design and won a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2014; she also won a Drama Desk Award for The Little Foxes. Greenwood has taught at the Yale School of Drama and is married to scenic designer Ben Edwards.
