Biography
Janine Nabers is an American playwright and television writer. Born in Houston, Texas, she holds a BFA in theatre from Ithaca College and an MFA in playwriting from The New School. She was a two-time Lila Acheson Wallace fellow at the Juilliard School and won the 2014 Yale Drama Series Prize for her play Serial Black Face.
Nabers began writing for television on Bravo's Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce. Her credits include UnREAL, Dietland, Away, Watchmen (for which she received a Writers Guild of America Award) and Atlanta, on which she served as a writer and co-executive producer and shared a Peabody Award. She co-created the Amazon series Swarm with Donald Glover, which won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Limited Series.
