Biography
Jarreth J. Merz is a Swiss actor and filmmaker. He was born on 1 May 1970 in Zurich and trained at the European Film Actor School in Zurich before continuing his studies at the Herbert Berghof Studio and New York University.
Merz is known for playing Simon of Cyrene in The Passion of the Christ (2004). His other acting credits include roles in Homeland (2011), Ben-Hur (2016), Titans (2018), SIX (2017–2018) and The Odyssey (2026) as Leodes. He directed the documentary An African Election (2011), which followed Ghana’s 2008 presidential election.
